Bitcoin has been a solid financial support for the founder of Telegram

Pavel Durov, creator of the Telegram app, shared that Bitcoin played a significant role in his survival during difficult financial times. This happened long before the app became a global phenomenon.
In a conversation with Lex Friedman, he recalled that in 2013, without much fanfare, he bought several thousand BTC for about $2 million. This was at a time when the price of the asset was around $700 per coin. The deal seemed controversial at the time, especially after the cryptocurrency fell sharply. Durov saw the potential in the digital asset even then and never sold or succumbed to its short-term fluctuations.
Telegram did not bring wealth
The entrepreneur emphasized that his platform consumed more funds than it generated. He shared that "without Bitcoin, I would not have survived," revealing that Telegram was not his main financial support.
A look to the future
Durov also made a bold prediction - according to him, the leading cryptocurrency is on track to exceed $1 million per coin. The reason is simple: "while governments continue to print money and increase deficits, Bitcoin's limited supply makes it the only sustainable store of value. "Fiat currencies can depreciate or disappear, but Bitcoin is designed to be eternal," he said.
